Start with yourself, making the change within... 07/17/2009

Being perfect is an allusion, even the brightest, riches and most sucessful can provide you with tale of drama that could become the next Reality Show.  As  a parent, we see our teen through filtered vision.  Part of us wants that child to be the brightest and the best.  The other part of us sees that, like us, they are human and through the years taken on personalities that may be placing themselves or others at risk.

Personally, I can provide a list of professionals, programs and websites that gave me insight, but left me still dealing with the same problem I had when I started.  After one of my children had attended "a program", I seriously began to take a cold hard look within myself.  Giving myself the victim role, no longer could be part of my MO.  Allowing myself to run on anger to be motivated to go to work, keep up with an impossible schedule and manage my kids situations had to stop.

Much like quiting an additive substance, letting go of my main drive that worked to well (or not) has been a challenge.  What I discovered was, the more I studied, learned and positively made changes in my core beliefs, was honest with myself; the more my family began to  make the same effort.  Each one of my children have participated at different levels of my transformation.  The honest effort to heal and bring true peace and respect into our lives is in a large part the willingness of my children; each in their own manner giving me the feedback and working to make their life drama free and working.

These two articles give some real life transformation information!  Give yourself the knowledge to change your life.
